Another minor earthquake

I was woken up by a minor earthquake in Lima, Peru, about 45 mins ago (0645 GMT-5). 3.8 in the Richter scale. This one came with a lot of rumbling.

How does it feel being awakened by a pulsating rumble? Does it put you in touch with a life force? Do you feel the same power flowing through you as through every living thing? I would like to feel what it is to be awakened by a MINOR earthquake. Maybe I would feel connected, exhilarated, perhaps on intimate terms with Nature...absorbed by the rhythm.

Why do people always think it would be cool?
I live near one of the largest faultlines in my country (Wellington Faultline, New Zealand). Every earthquake could be the 'big one', which we are constatly told will occur. It is not cool, it is a situation where you go 'I might die now'. It is not nice.

I don't wish to ever experience an earthquake of any magnitude.

Feeling a minor earthquake wouldn't be "cool" or entertaining in my book. The life I desire to live involves experiencing many amplitudes. Some individuals are anesthetized by the idea of setting foot on unfamiliar turf. An open minded individual has opportunity to gain brilliance through positive and negative experiences. I will thrust myself fearlessly into the unknown and experience every wonderful act of nature that emerges before me.

I wish you peace and safety. There are many things I have no desire to experience in my lifetime. Earthquakes are only one.

Once you have actually been in an earthquake, it all looks different. The overall stark memory that I have is one of utter and complete powerlessness. It is frightening indeed.

We have a culture of earthquakes here in Peru. We just have to wait for the big one. I remember drills held twice a year in school so I pretty much know what to do and what not to do.

We had all the drills etc as well.
This morning we got hit with a 5.5 earthquake centred 30km away from here and 30km underground.
Getting quite freaky.
